PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment by which the ringing of a CAR (information reception terminal start signal) is prevented in a main body telephone set when the CAR is received from a communication line and the disturbance of a sequence for detecting a caller side ID is prevented. SOLUTION: When the CAR is received from the communication line, a series of calling side ID detecting sequences such as the detection of the CAR, a first-order response by line pickup or the detection of the caller side ID, etc., are performed by external communication equipment. During this operation, the communication equipment keeps the main body telephone set disconnected from the communication line.
