PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an ethylene-vinyl ester resin emulsion excellent in water resistance and in storage stability, and in transparency when fabricating into a coating film. SOLUTION: The ethylene-vinyl ester based resin emulsion is characterized in that the means diameter of its particles, prepared by the addition of a glycol ether compound during the process of the emulsion-copolymerization of the ethylene-vinyl ester base resin emulsion with a vinyl alcohol based polymer acting as a dispersant, is not more than 1μm under a dynamic light-scattering method.
