PURPOSE: A method for continuous annealing hot-rolled duplex stainless steel coil is provided to obtain homogeneous microstructure and superior corrosion resistance with reduced profile strain. CONSTITUTION: In the continuous annealing process of hot-rolled coil of duplex stainless steel 2205 that comprises Cr 21-24wt.%, Ni 4.5-6.5wt.%, Mo 2.5-3.5wt.%, N 0.08-0.2wt.%, the balance Fe and inevitable impurities, liner tension applied to prevent thermal sagging of hot-rolled coil is regulated to below 0.4kgf/mm¬2. Further, the annealing is carried out in the temperature range 1040 to 1050deg.C for 120sec.
