PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an nX reluctance reslover more compact than the conven tional one. SOLUTION: The nX reluctance resolver is composed of an inductor-type rotor 3 and a stator 5, that rotate around a rotary shaft 1. The stator core 6 comprises an arcuate yoke 7 that is positioned within an angle range of 360 deg./n (n: 2 or larger integer) in terms of a mechanical angle, and 4×k (k: 1 or larger integer) magnetic pole sections 9 that are connected to the yoke 7 and are arranged at a specific interval. Each of the magnetic pole sections 9 is wound with excitation windings 11. Every other magnetic pole section 9 is wound with first winding 13 for detection, and remaining every other magnetic pole section is wound with a second winding section 15 for detection.
