METHOD FOR TREATING WASTEWATER CONTAINING CHROME AND NITRATE

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for treating wastewater containing chrome and nitrate with high effect using upflow packing type reactor which has a film of fixed denitrification microorganisms in high concentration. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (i) removal of chrome by inflow of wastewater into primary upflow packing type reactor in which denitrification microorganisms are fixed in 60,000-100,000mg/l of concentration; (ii) control of pH of the wastewater in which chrome is removed; (iii) removal of nitrate by inflow of wastewater into secondary upflow packing type reactor in which denitrification microorganisms are fixed at 15-35°C and 60,000-100,000mg/l of concentration. One of Pseudomonas denitrificans, Paracoccus and Escherichia is selected with the denitrifying microorganism.
