PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer, particularly a technique for preventing degradation of printing characteristics by holding a distance between a printer head and a printing paper constant. SOLUTION: A paper feed part 34a of a belt 34 for transfer at a paper transfer system 4 is set to be able to approach and separate to the printer head 30. At the same time, a stopper 41 is set to which a butting element 40a as a part of the paper transfer system butts to regulate a distance between the paper feed part of the belt for transfer and the printer head when the paper feed part is brought to be close to the printer head.
