PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sufficient water sealing effect in a joint without any increase of plate thickness of the metal plate when the metal plate is used for protecting the surface of concrete. SOLUTION: Grooves 2 serving as joints are formed on the surface of the concrete 1, while flanges 3a are formed around the metal plate 3 with a dimension matching the area sectioned by the grooves 2. The metal plate 3 is arranged in the sectioned area while the flanges 3a are inserted into the grooves 2 in the circumference, and a clearance between the opposite flanges 3a and 3a of the adjacent metal plates 3 and 3 is filled with a joint material 21 (42).
