PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely detect gas generating from radioactive materials, without leaking to the outside of the vessel body. SOLUTION: The vessel comprises a vessel body 11, containing spent nuclear fuel 101 sealed airtightly, absorbent 15 arranged inside the vessel body 11 and absorbing gas generated from the spent nuclear fuel and leaked inside the vessel body, a shielding member 21 arranged in between the radioactive material and the adsorbent and shielding the adsorbent against the radioactive materials, and a detector 22 placed outside the airtight vessel corresponding to the wall of the vessel and the adsorbent and detecting the strength of radiation of the gas adsorbed in the adsorbent 15.
