PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire positional data by a surveying apparatus and to acquire image data. SOLUTION: The surveying apparatus comprises a distance measuring part 27 used to measure a distance up to a collimation point, angle measuring parts 37, 38 used to measure a vertical angle and a horizontal angle of the collimation point, and imaging means 33, 36 used to acquire an image in a collimation direction. The surveying apparatus is provided with drive parts 54, 55 used to direct the imaging means to a direction of a prescribed measuring object 21 selected on the basis of the total image acquired by the imaging means, and a control and computing part 41 in which an image of the measuring object imaged in a direction directed by the drive parts and surveying data up to the measuring object measured by the distance measuring part and the angle measuring part are recorded so as to be related.
