<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a capacity of a battery is reduced, a change to backup power supply is delayed when a power failure occurs during lifetime determination testing, and the reliability of power supply back up is deteriorated, since the lifetime determination testing is performed for every constant period of time. <P>SOLUTION: An operation part 4 and a lifetime determination part 5 calculate a lifetime of a storage battery 1 based on a current and a voltage of the storage battery 1 measured by a current detection circuit 2 and a voltage detection circuit 3 when a power failure is detected by a power failure detection circuit 7, and determine the lifetime. Time duration is measured by a timer 8 after power failure retrieval, the storage battery 1 is connected to a discharge circuit 10 when the power failure is not detected after a previously set time has elapsed, the lifetime is calculated based on detection results of the current detection circuit 2 and the voltage detection circuit 3 at that time, and the lifetime is determined. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
