A skew control method and a skew control device are provided to measure amplitudes of focus drive signals while a focus servo of an optical pickup is applied, and to control a skew angle such that voltages of the signals can be identical, thereby carrying out a stably skew control with a simple configuration. Height positions of optical pickups(31) are changed by rotating a skew cam gear(54) by a skew motor, so that optical shafts of objective lenses(31L) of the optical pickups(31) can be orthogonal with an optical disk(2) by removing inclinations from the optical disk(2) and the optical pickups(31). A disk drive(3) measures focus drive voltages(V1,V2) while focus servos of the optical pickups(31) are applied, and controls a skew angle such that the voltages(V1,V2) can be identical, in plural places(P1,P2) that move the pickups(31) in diameter direction of the optical disk(2).
