Training machine for projecting footballs - uses pivoting arm struck by rotating cam to strike ball with accelerating forward movement

The machine is used for training in controlling a football and comprises a frame with a hopper on top for the balls. These are fed down a chute and dropped through a gate onto a platform. A spring loaded oscillating arm strikes the ball to project it forwards. The arm is made of wood and has a striker at the front. It is operated by means of a cam striking an adjustable roller. This cam is rotated continuously by a motor and has a profiled surface which imparts an accelerating forward movement to the arm as it strikes the roller.
