<p>ELECTRODE OR POLE PIECE ARRAY FOR CREATING PRESCRIBED ELECTRIC OR MAGNETIC FIELDS The invention contemplates an advance over the previously available prior electrode arrangements by providing an electrode arrangement which comprises a circular array of spaced electrodes lying substantially in a plane and connected to a polyphase voltage source for producing between the electrodes and a plate member which revolves in a given reference plane parallel to the plane of the array an electric field in space adjacent to the plane of the array. The electrodes, the plate member, and the intervening medium have such characteristics as to produce a resultant signal on the plate member which varies substantially sinusoidally when the electrodes are connected to the polyphase voltage.</p> |
