Stoppers for blood-collecting containers (esp.centrifuge tubes for sepn. of serum or plasma) have an elastomer body coated on its lower surface with a layer of coupling agent, to which a layer of anticoagulant adheres. The anticoagulant is pref. an anionic polymer, esp. dextran sulphate (I), and the coupling agent is pref. a cationic surfactant, esp. tridodecylmethylammonium chloride (II). The anticoagulant inhibits adhesion of blood cells to the stopper, thus preventing contamination of serum or plasma samples, and the coupling agent inhibits dissolution of the anticoagulant, thus preventing it from acting on the whole blood.
|
