In a moulding for use on vehicles of various kinds, there is described an improved moulding wherein the rigid components of the moulding are isolated from the vehicle body by a resilient protective layer. Known mouldings comprise a hard synthetic resin base and a metal foil, either of which components may be placed in contact with the vehicle surface. Vibrational noises often result from the contact and, if the foil is in contact with a metalic vehicle surface, a galvanic reaction may occur causing damage to the surface. In this invention, a moulding comprises a synthetic resin body to which a metal foil is mounted. A portion of the moulding has affixed thereto a protective layer of resilient plastic material to prevent contact between the body member and the metal foil with the surface of the vehicle. |
