PURPOSE:To finely position a cutting tool, by controlling the rotational speed of a lathe so that the position of the cutting tool is controlled at will. CONSTITUTION:When a cutting head (a) fixed to a rotary shaft is rotated, centrifugal force acts a mass at the front end of a thin wall cylindrical part 2 in the direction of increasing the diameter of the thin wall cylindrical part 2. Meanwhile the cylindrical part 2 acts to restore to its original shape in the direction of counteracting the centrifugal force since the cylindrical part 2 is formed as the structure of cantilever type which may resiliently deform. Accordingly, the front end of the cylindrical part 2 is maintained in the position at which two forces are balanced. Thereby the position of the cutting tool 4 may be controlled at will by controlling the rotational speed of the lathe since the centrifugal force is changed in accordance with the rotational speed. |
