The apparatus includes a hollow arm 1 provided with orifices 2 with adjustable passage cross-section, suitably distributed along the arm. An Archimedean screw 3 pushes the substance therein. The means for adjusting the passage cross-section of the orifices 2 consist of a flat bar 9 provided with slots 10 facing the said orifices and capable of being moved by control means longitudinally in one direction or the other to reduce or increase the passage cross-section for the substance. The control means consist of an electric thrust cylinder 17 associated with a stroke step-down device 14. The members 20, 21 for controlling the electric thrust cylinder are actuated manually. The control members 20, 21 are located close to the driver of the vehicle 12 which is associated with the distribution appliance. <IMAGE>
