PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce cost, especially, the cost of a thermal head to a large extent and to obtain excellent accelerated speed property by enhancing a response speed, by using a press head in combination with a heat generator. CONSTITUTION:A heat generator 10 is arranged so as to be opposed to a press head 9 using a bimorph body and recording paper 11 and an ink sheet 12 coated with a heat meltable ink layer 14 are inserted between both of them and moved so as to hold a definite distance to each other. The heat generator 10 has no dot engraved to the surface thereof and is heated to a temp. capable of always melting the ink layer 14 during printing. The press head 9 is constituted by arranging a plurality of bimorph bodies each formed into a rod shape in a dot unit in parallel and the bimorph bodies are displaced to a direction B in each dot unit by applying an electric signal to make it possible to press the press head 9 to the heat generator 10. At the time of printing, the leading end of each bimorph body of the press head 9 is displaced to the direction B of the heat generator by applying an electric signal to press the recording paper 11 and the ink sheet 12 to the heat generator 10 and thermal printing is applied to the recording paper 11 in a dot form. |
