456,484. Making sliding-clasp fastenings. FREY, S., 30, Dufourstrasse, Zurich, Switzerland. Jan. 21, 1936, No. 1908. Convention date, Nov. 27, 1935. [Class 83 (ii)] [See also Group XXV] Coloured elements for sliding-clasp fasteners are produced by treating a strip of aluminium, copper, or magnesium &c., which has been stamped to form a series of elements integrally connected by bridge pieces and removing the bridge pieces after the colouring operation. Chemical or electrolytic action may be used or the strip may be covered by a synthetic resin. The strip of elements shown in Fig. 1, may be bent into wavy shape so that each element is doubled over into U-shape ; the wavy strip is then coloured, attached to the stringer tape, and finally the bridge pieces 5 are cut away. With a strip of elements as shown in Fig. 3, the uncoloured parts which arise on removal of the bridge pieces 5 are clamped on the stringer tape and are therefore invisible.
|
