PURPOSE:To improve characteristics in a high band of about 8MHz by arranging and fixing a couple of recording dedicated magnetic heads which have a relatively large number of coil turns and a couple of reproduction dedicated magnetic heads which have a relatively small number of coil turns at the peripheral edge part of a rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:The rotary drum 4 is provided with the couple of recording dedicated metallic-core magnetic heads whose number of coil turns is increased by using metallic cores of 'Sendust(R)' alloy or amorphous alloy, etc., and the couple of reproduction dedicated metallic-core magnetic heads 6a and 6b whose number of coil turns is decreased by using metallic cores. The respective numbers of coil turns are so set that recording and reproduction are performed excellently in a high band of about 8MHz. Those couples of magnetic heads 5a and 5b, and 6a and 6b are arranged and fixed to the peripheral edge part of the rotary drum in 180 deg. position relation and the magnetic metallic-core heads 5a and 5b dedicated to recording in recording or the metallic-core magnetic heads 6a and 6b dedicated to reproduction in reproduction scan tracks A and B of a magnetic tape 2 alternately. |
