PURPOSE:To detect a real target without difficulty, by providing a gate circuit to a receiver and removing the reflected signal from the surface of the sea directly under an airplane. CONSTITUTION:The receiver 6 of a radar apparatus having an antenna 1, a duplexer 2, a transmitter 3 and an indicator 5 is constituted of a mixer 6a, an intermediate frequency amplifier 6b, a detector 6c and a gate circuit 6d. A width is slightly provided to the time when the reflected signal from the surface of the sea or the ground directly under an aeroplane is received to close the gate circuit 6d and said reflected signal is blocked and removed. By this method, the detection difficulty of a real target can be excluded by eliminating the erroneous confirmation of the reflected signal from the target to be a real one.
