PURPOSE:To increase efficiency of heat transfer in an evaporation pipe and provide high performance and miniature air preheater by closing the tip end section of the pipe and providing a plurality of discharge holes on the lower face of the intermediate section of the pipe in a plurality of liquid distributing pipes which are connected to a header below a condensation pipe and forming evaporation pipes by inserting those pipes into the inside of the evaporation pipe. CONSTITUTION:A liquid connection pipe 27 provided and connected to the bottom section of a header 23 below a group 20 of condensation pipes has its end section inserted into a header 17 above a group 14 of evaporation pipes along the direction of the axis of the header 17 and has a liquid distributing pipes 18 which are inserted into each evaporation pipes 15 mounted to communicate with the pipe 27. In other words, while a working fluid in liquid phase is flowing down in the liquid distributing pipes 28, the working fluid flows out of flow-out holes 30 and it is dispersed and supplied to the whole inside of an evaporation pipe 15 by the capillary tube pressure in a wick 16 and the gravity. In this case it is possible to make the whole of inner circumferential faces of the evaporation pipes 15 effective evaporation faces, and furthermore since the supply of the working fluid in liquid phase is uniformalized to prevent so-called dryout and floating phenomenon in which the working fluid in liquid phase is splashed by steam, and to raise the maximum heat transportation capability.
