Chimeric antibodies, in which the variable portion of an animal monoclonal antibody is grafted onto divalent or monovalent human IgGs or onto Fc fragments of human IgGs or onto the constant portion of human IgGs, wherein the aforementioned variable portion recognises the human interleukin-2 receptor, and wherein the Fab' fragments of the aforementioned animal antibody are capable of inhibiting the primary allogenic response; their preparation and their application in human medicine, in particular in the prevention of graft rejection.
