<p>The subject of the invention is a cast metallic insert for the cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, in the zones which are subject to considerable temperature gradients, particularly between two valve seats. The body 2 of the insert 1, arranged in the hot zone of the cylinder head, is a cylinder of elliptical cross-section connected to the circular flange 3 in a progressive manner.
