<p>A plasma membrane-associated lytic factor, a preparation of enriched plasma membranes having lytic activity, and lytically active fragments of a plasma membrane-associated lytic factor are produced from plasma membranes obtained from effector cells. Also, recombinant DNA can encode effector cell plasma membrane-associated lytic factor protein; a vector containing such DNA can be used to transform cells; and a cell transformed with the DNA can express the DNA in vitro or in vivo. Also, a method of therapy in a subject can include administering to the subject the purified effector cell plasma-membrane-associated lytic factor or a lytically active fragment of the lytic factor. Also, a method of therapy in a subject can include administering to the subject cells transformed with DNA encoding the effector cell plasma-membrane-associated lytic factor or a lytically active fragment of the lytic factor.</p> |
