The exhaust steam line (7,8,9) is connected to a drying unit (4), in which the fuel is acted upon with heat from the exhaust steam, before it is supplied to the steam boiler. The steam boiler (1) is designed as a fluidised bed boiler. The drying unit (4) is designed as a fluidised bed drier. A milling plant (5) is arranged in the exhaust steam line to be driven by the exhaust steam. The predried fuel is crushed in the milling plant before being supplied to the steam boiler. ADVANTAGE - Comparatively damp fuel can be processed with satisfactory degree of efficiency.
