Provided is an antibacterial substance and a liquid antibacterial agent having higher stability than prior antibacterial agents, and which can be used on a variety of antibacterial objects that are liquids. An antibacterial substance comprising a water-soluble polysaccharide having an average molecular weight of 1,200,000 million or greater, to which silver deposited particles having a diameter of 1 nm or greater are caused to adhere in a dispersed state. The antibacterial substance is admixed in a state of having been dissolved in an aqueous solvent, yielding a liquid antibacterial agent. The present invention is characterized by having a silver concentration of 80 ppm or greater. |
