Air is distributed around the inside of the passenger compartment of vehicles by means of a system of conduits under the floor. The system of distribution is arranged to make the air supplied available at a series of valves (30) at convenient points, on the floor of the compartment. The air is carried from the distribution points (30) to the air outlets (34), which are arranged at appropriate points within the passenger compartment. The air outlets are supported by tubular columns (38), which are fitted into the distribution points by means of removable connectors (40).
