Cylinder shell sector machining process

The machining process involves clamping two or more cylinder shell sectors (2a,2b) together on one clamping body (4). The cylinder shell sectors are then machined by the same grinding tool (16). The number of shell sectors clamped simultaneously on the clamping body may equal the size factor of the printing press cylinder. The grinding tool may be a rotary grindstone (20) for guiding over the surfaces to be machined, or may be a grinding belt (40) on running rollers. The spanning body may be built through the cylinder body.
