PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile(FAX) type electronic mail(E mail) device enabling a user to transmit image information through a repeater only by specifying the FAX number of a final destination and capable of obtaining a receiving image similar to that of a case using a direct telephone network. SOLUTION: The FAX type E mail device 1 inquires a repeating mail address of a server 3 based on the information of a final address FAX number, transmits a repeat transfer indicating command to a corresponding FAX type E mail device 2 by an E mail and transmits image information as a file annexed to the E mail to request repeat transfer. The device 2 functioning as a repeater has a function for converting only previously determined specified information out of the header information of the received E mail into the same format as the image information and transmits the specific information to a FAX equipment 4 to be the final destination together with the image information.
