A supply of unbaked bread rolls travels on a conveyer belt (4) and falls one by one onto the collector zone (6) of a conveyer belt which moves intermittently around rollers (8, 8') at each end. The movement of the collector zone conveyer (6) is determined by a belt brake (12) located either under or over the conveyer (6). The belt brake (12) maintains the position of the belt (6) with respect to the belt above (4).
