PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching part for a knitting machine small in the contacting area of a sliding face, enabling the sufficient distribution of a lubricating oil into gaps and smoothly movable by cutting delicate concavo-convex patterns on the side face. SOLUTION: This punching part is formed by cutting delicate concavo-convex patterns with a constant space between them or a plurality of lines of continuous dent of 0.01-0.05 mm in depth on one side or preferably on both sides of a moving part such as a knitting needle, an intermediate jack or a patterning jack, or a fixed part such as an insert piece. Otherwise, a punching part is produced in a form that the central part is thick and both the ends are thin in the cross sectional shape perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and the difference between the thickest part and the thinnest part is 0.01-0.05 mm; or a body part has a wave-form in the longitudinal direction having the height of wave of 0.01-0.05 mm.
