A yarn comprises at least two gel spun polyolefin filaments having a mol.wt. of at least 400,000, that have been: (1) coated with a coating material that enhances fusion between filaments; and (2) exposed to a temp. within the m.pt. range of the filaments for sufficient time to soften and fuse surfaces of adjacent filaments so that the fused surfaces secure individual filaments together. |
