PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide solid soap having good solubility, rapid foamability, excellent foamability, giving creamy foams, giving good touch to skins after washed, scarcely causing deformation and cracks, and having excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: This solid soap comprises 70-95 wt.% of a fatty acid alkali metal salt and 1-10 wt.% of a fatty acid. The fatty acids constituting the fatty acid alkali metal salt comprise 15-35 wt.% of lauric acid, 55-75 wt.% of myristic acid and 5-20 wt.% of palmitic acid, provided that the total amount of the lauric acid, the myristic acid and the palmitic acid is 95-100 wt.%. The alkali metal comprises potassium and sodium in a potassium/sodium weight ratio of 1/4 to 3/2.
