The bearing bush (8) in a sewing machine, for a sliding unit such as the shaft of a presser foot (6) or needle (4), is in a release mounting in a drilling at the housing. The housing has two drillings, parallel to the axis (A) of the housing drilling, which cut into it. A lateral drilling extends into each of the side drillings. A cylinder pin (13) is inserted into each side drilling. A cylinder pin (13) is inserted into each side drilling, to be pressed radially against the bearing bush (8) by clamps through the lateral drillings. The lateral drillings have a partial threading, to take screw bolts as the clamps. The cylinder pins (13) fit into the side drillings with free play, and there is free play between the bearing bush (8) and the drilling in the sewing machine housing.
