PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cleaning device capable of effectively removing residual chlorine, sterilization by-products such as THM, bad-smelling materials such as 2-MIB or color components. SOLUTION: In the water cleaning device in which water is allowed to successively pass through a cleaning cartridge 4, a supplying pump 9 and a water receiving part from a storage tank 6, at least two kinds of activated carbon comprising activated carbon 1 having small size and activated carbon 2 having large size, which are different in the specific gravity and the grain size to each other, are filled in such a density that they are movable by the flow of water in the cleaning cartridge 4. The water passage in the water cleaning cartridge 4 is made nearly vertical and the cartridge 4 is constituted so that water flows from the lower part to the upper part.
