PURPOSE: To stabilize the potential of pixel electrodes, regardless of a signal delay quantity in gate signal lines, etc. CONSTITUTION: Pixels are formed between the own-stage gate signal lines and the post stage gate signal lined on the surface on the liquid crystal side of one substrate of respective substrates, arranged to face each other via liquid crystals. The video information from the drain signal lines are written to the pixels via switching elements driven by supply of the scanning signals from the own-stage gate signal lines. The rise of the scanning signals of the post-stage gate signal lines is performed simultaneously with the fall of the scanning signals of the own-stage gate signal lines at the end of writing, and the jumping voltage to the pixels are offset by the respective signals.
