PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove the problems of the room temperature being always raised, where in fact only lowering of humidity is necessary, because heating is effected to the extent the temperature of air blown out is raised, and that the temperature of blown out air cannot be controlled during the operation of a conventional dehumidifier. SOLUTION: A dehumidifier is provided with a switching means 2 for switching a first mode for conducting normal dehumidification to a second mode for forming a first air passage B, for distributing indoor air to an evaporator 14 and a second air passage C for distributing indoor air to a condenser 12, or vice versa. The second mode, which can be switched by the switching means 2 independently uses the air that has passed through either of the first air passage B and the second air passage C, or mixes the air that has passed through one of the passages with a portion of the air that has passed through the other passage so as to change the blown out air temperature.
