PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which has good transmission efficiency of light signal and is excellent in manufacturability. SOLUTION: In the optical connector 1, in which a plug connector 3 which holds the end surface of an optical fiber 21 and an optical transceiver 2 which contains a light emitting and receiving element 15 sending and receiving light signals to and from the optical fiber 21 are connected across transparent resin 17 and a photoconductive member 14 between the end surface of the optical fiber 21 and the light emitting and receiving element 15, the circumference of the light emitting and receiving element 15 is covered with a transparent resin 17 and fixed in the transceiver 2, a leaf spring 12 is provided which elastically presses the photoconductive member 14 in contact with the transparent resin 17 against the end surface of the optical fiber 21 when the plug connector 3 and optical transceiver 2 are connected, and the light emitting and receiving element 15 and a substrate 7 are connected through a lead frame 16.
