PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image catching device capable of catching and selecting an image easily. SOLUTION: The image catching device 1 for selecting and catching desired parts 20, 30, 35, 45 of a text is provided. This device is provided with a projector device 3 for projecting a visible light image 15 on the text of a document 11 to allow a user of the image catching device to position the light image on the desired parts of the text, a catching device 2 capable of operating so as to catch at least a part of the text in accordance with a position of the light image 15, and text selection means 5, 6 capable of operating so as to select the desired parts of the text from the caught text.
