PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of saving space. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for the vehicle is provided with refrigerating cycle 13 having an evaporator 2 arranged in an air duct 1 and cooling air by evaporation of refrigerant, a compressor 3 for increasing temperature and pressure of the evaporated refrigerant, a refrigerant-water heat exchanger 4 for heating cooling water by heat transfer from the refrigerant exhausted from the compressor 3, and a pressure reducing device 5 for reducing pressure of the refrigerant exhausted from the refrigerant-water heat exchanger 4 and cooling water cycle 14 having a heater core 6 installed on the downstream side of the evaporator 2 taking the air direction in the air duct 1 as reference to heat feed air by heated cooling water, a radiator 7 cooling the cooling water, a pump 8 circulating cooled cooling water, a power engine 9 cooled using the cooling water fed from the pump 8, and the refrigerant water heat exchanger 4.
