PURPOSE: A memory device for driving a display panel and its driving method are provided to minimize a peak current which is generated when data is transferred toward a source channel. CONSTITUTION: A memory cell array(100-10m) stores binary information. Bit line-bit bar line pairs are connected to memory cells. The first transfer gates(210) are connected to one end of the bit line-bit bar line pairs and are switched to access the memory cells. The second transfer gates(220) are connected to another end of the bit line-bit bar line pairs and are switched to read binary information stored in the memory cells. Data buffers(SB0-SBm) stores the read binary information. Signals switching the second transfer gates are derived from one enable signal and then are grouped into several groups, and signals per each group have different delay time.
