METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING PROBE CARRIER TO IMPROVE THE YIELD OF THE PROBE CARRIER, INCREASE THE PERIOD FOR HEAD REPLACEMENT AND REDUCE THE PRODUCTION COSTS

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for producing a probe carrier are provided, thereby improving the yield of the probe carrier, increasing the period for head replacement, and reducing the production costs. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing a probe carrier having an image which is formed by arranging a plurality of immobilized areas of separate probe at certain positions on the carrier comprises (i) a first drawing process which supports the carrier by a supporting device, relatively moves a liquid discharging head having a plurality of liquid discharging units in relation to the carrier to discharge a probe solution containing the probe which specifically binds to a target material from certain liquid discharging units to certain positions on the carrier, and draws a preliminary image containing a plurality of immobilized areas of the separate probe on the carrier; (ii) an evaluating process which evaluates the drawing accuracy of the preliminary image on the carrier; (iii) a setting process which establishes the drawing conditions to which the evaluation results of the drawing accuracy is fed-back; and (iv) a second drawing process which relatively moves the liquid discharging head having the plurality of liquid discharging units under the drawing conditions in relation to the carrier supported on the supporting device to discharge the probe solution containing the probe which specifically binds to the target material from the certain liquid discharging units to certain positions on the carrier, and draws a final image consisting of a plurality of immobilized areas of the separate probe on the carrier to obtain the probe carrier.
