A latch fastening for pivotally connecting two members 5, 6 comprises a bifurcated part 22 on one member 5 and having a keeper pin 25 extending thereacross; and a tongue part 21 on the other member 6 and having an openended slot 24 which receives the pin 25 when the tongue is received in the bifurcated part 22, and a latch member 27 pivoted thereto which engages the pin 25 to retain it in the slot 24. The latch member 27, which is mounted in a slot 26 in the tongue part 21, has a hooked end 29 biased against the pin 25 by a spring 30, and is releasable by a push-button 33. The members 5, 6 may be hinged together by means of lateral extensions (37a, 38a), Fig. 6 (not shown) to the tongue and bifurcated parts (37, 38). The fastenings may be incorporated in a stretcher, as described in Specification 29463/71 (see Division A5).</p> |
