Double skinned heating oil tank with leak indicator - has detector in base of perforated annular profiled section between skins

A hollow profiled section is mounted in the annular chamber between inner and outer skins, extending from the tank to the base and back to the top again, thus forming a U-shaped annular chamber joining the outer skin via two openings. The annular chamber is connected to that between the skins at the base, and at this point it contains an interchangeable leak detector, connected via a measuring cable to an alarm device outside the tank. The profiled section can be a tube, perforated where the detector is mounted, and it can fit in a groove formed in the outer tank skin. Where the inner and outer skins are of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic separated by a sheet of material, the profiled section can be mounted between the sheet and the inner skin.
