<p>The battery powered gas fuelled lighter with a contact switch is basically conventional, with gas tank, battery and electric circuitry in a casing with a hinged cover. However the normal operating switch has been replaced by a contact switch comprising two terminals (20b, 20c) separated and surrounded by insulating material (20a) flush mounted in the side of the casing. Terminals may be side-by-side or concentric; in the latter case the switch surface should be concave so that one terminal at least is below casing surface level, to reduce risk of inadvertent operation.</p> |
