The accessory is intended for fitting on a paint brush having a handle (1) with brush hairs (2) at the end, for preventing paint from spreading laterally when painting e.g. along corners. A plate (3) is hinged on the handle such that its extreme end (3') slightly projects beyond the ends of the brush hairs. The width of this end pref. exceeds that of the brush by a small amount. - The plate may be bent (5) such that its hollow side faces the sides of the hairs. It may be clamped (4) on the end of the handle and may have a ring (6) to permit hanging the brush. FL(1/1)
