PURPOSE:To prevent overcharge and also prevent deterioration or damage in high rate charge by stopping charge when charge voltage becomes maximum. CONSTITUTION:Charge voltage V(t) of a battery 2 is inputted through a converter 4 to a computer 5, and voltage V0=Vt-alpha obtained by subtracting specified voltage alpha from the charge voltage is stored in a memory. Charge voltage is inputted to the computer 5 every time ts by a timer. Differential voltage beta= V(t)-V(t-1) of charge voltage (t-1) in detection and charge voltage V(t) detected in that time is calculated and added to reference voltage V0. The value of V0+beta is stored in the memory as a new reference voltage V0. Charge voltage V(t) is compared with the reference voltage V0 every time ts. When V0>V(t) is obtained, a stop signal is outputted from the computer 5 to a point (P4), a switch 3 is turned off and charge of the battery 2 is stopped. |
