PURPOSE:To perform tracking servocontrol and to access a desired track at a high speed with high precision by obtaining the width of driving pulses of a DC motor for the relative movement extent of a magnetic head from a memory means, and controlling a motor driving means. CONSTITUTION:When a selection of a desired track 102 is supported under track selection control 200, the head 104 is moved almost to the track under head movement control 202. Then, an error in head position is detected by detecting the level of a pilot signal. An ROM address calculating function 206 calculates the ratio of the head position error to the heat movement extent, i.e. an address of an ROM156 by the detected error and attains access to the ROM156. The track selection control 200 corrects the head position by the head movement control 202 according to data read out of the ROM156, i.e. pulse width PE of a correction pulse. |
