PHOTODETECTING PROBE FOR SPECTOCOLORIMETER

PURPOSE:To exactly detect the scattered and reflected light from an object to be measured simply by pressing a photodetecting probe to the surface of said object by fixing the respective top ends of fiber bundles for irradiation and fiber bundle for photodetection in the probe by a fixing mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The fiber bundle for irradiation inputted from a standard light source side into a cylindrical case 31 of the photodetecting probe 2 is branched to four fiber bundles 3a-3d for irradiation and the respective top ends thereof are inserted into metallic fixing pipes 38a-38d fitted into four through-holes bored at 4 points on the circumference of a supporting disk 32. A piece of the optical fiber bundle 4 for photodetection connected to a spectroscope is inserted into a fixing pipe 39 fitted to the center of the disk 32. The optical axes of the four bundles 3a-3d and the fiber bundle 4 intersect with each other on the central position A of the top end face 33a. In use, the operator simply presses the top end face 33a of a cap 33 lightly to the surface of the object 5 to be measured and the scattered and reflected light from the surface of the object to be measured is exactly detected.
